![]() ![]() ![]() They're also not fast on a normal course because the center of gravity is too high so they just tip over through the turns. ![]() These bodies WILL fit on any of the wide pan chassis, but they look strange because they sit too high and the wheel wells are too big since they're meant for bigger tires. The "Wheelie 440" chassis is actually based on a narrow Magnum 440 chassis, but it has wide pan body mounts.Īs far as I know, there are only two bodies that will fit the Stomper US-1 chassis because of its huge tires: the Stomper Blazer and the Stomper Chevy truck. The Twin Turbo Trains locomotive also runs on a 440-X2 wide pan chassis. Mattel HPX2 wide pan (sometimes called 440-X3, same as Tyco 440-X2) Magnum 440-X2 wide pan (dual traction magnets, much more common) Magnum 440 wide pan (single bar traction magnet, very rare) The height of the tire increased also, so some of the older bodies may experience tire rub. Starting with the 440, the wheel track stayed the same, but the rear tire width increased greatly. US-1 (long wheelbase only, some bodies have clearance issues) U-Turn (some bodies have clearance issues) Hustler (for battery-operated tracks, no traction magnet) ![]() Starting with the HP-7, the wheel track was widened - this is the "Goldilocks" chassis because it's right in the middle and most older and newer bodies will fit and look fine. These first chassis have narrow wheel tracks, so some later bodies will look out of proportion: The blue lines are protrusions that fit into cutouts on the inside of the body, and the red line is a channel on the chassis that a protrusion from the body fits into. If your body fits on one of the chassis styles below, it will fit on any in the same category. There are 2 main chassis styles from Tyco, the narrow chassis and the wide pan, so that's how I'll divide this up. I wrote this as a general chassis/body mount guide, but if you guys want to know what chassis a specific body will fit, just leave it here and I'll try to answer in a timely fashion. I've seen a lot of posts on here asking which Tyco bodies fit which chassis etc. ![]()
